The export trend of the Italian stone market is declining and the situation is not good

In the first nine months of 2009, the Italian stone industry exported a total of 2.041 million tons of marble and granite, stone and travertine, including raw materials and finished products, with a total value of 10.013 billion euros, a decrease of 14.5% in production and 21.3% in total imports and exports compared to the same period in 2008, according to data compiled by Internazionale Marmie Macchine Carrara.
