Marble decoration common sense

Marble is mainly composed of calcite, limestone, serpentine, and dolomite. Its main component is calcium carbonate, accounting for more than 50%. Because marble generally contains impurities, and calcium carbonate is affected by carbon dioxide, carbide and water vapor in the atmosphere, it is also easy to weathering and dissolving, so that the surface quickly loses its luster. Marble is generally softer in nature, which is relative to granite.

  Classification of marble

In interior decoration, marble is suitable for TV countertops, window sills, indoor floors, etc. There are two main types of marble used for decoration: natural marble and artificial marble.

Natural marble has a hard texture, a variety of colors, different shades, and a variety of luster, so it forms a unique natural beauty. Artificial marble is lighter than natural marble, high strength, thin thickness, corrosion resistance, anti-pollution, good processability, can be made into arcs, curved surfaces, etc., and is convenient for construction. However, in terms of color and texture, it is not as beautiful and naturally soft as natural marble.

  Marble purchase

To this end, when choosing marble decoration materials, the overall effect of their own decoration should be fully considered, such as different parts such as floor, wall, column, etc.; And the marble polished plate has a beautiful and colorful pattern, such as the cloud pattern that looks like the green clouds flying, and the color texture of the natural picture. Marble is also widely used in the countertops of toilets, washrooms and various furniture. When choosing marble decoration materials, the surface of the marble should also be screened whether the surface of the marble is smooth, whether the edges and corners are defective, whether there are cracks, scratches, whether there are sand holes, whether the tone is pure, etc.

  Marble construction

When laying marble veneer, the base ash and debris should be thoroughly removed, rinsed with water and dried. The bonding layer must be made of dry and hard mortar, and the mortar should be mixed well, and the thin mortar should not be used. Spread mortar wet base, after the cement slurry is brushed evenly, then paved with the mortar of the bonding layer, and the mortar of the bonding layer should be patted and kneaded flat. Before the panel is paved, the plate should be soaked and dried, and then formally paved after the trial paving. After positioning, the plate is evenly tapped and compacted.

In the acceptance, attention should be paid to whether the marble veneer paving is smooth and firm, the joints are straight, there is no skew, no stains and slurry marks, the surface is clean, and the color is coordinated. In addition, attention should also be paid to whether there is a deviation between the height of the seam and whether there is a hollow drum in the plate.
